Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data PMCompared collects when you visit pmcompared.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We wrote it in plain language because a privacy policy nobody can read protects nobody.

Information we collect

Data you give us directly

If you email us, we keep your message, your email address, and any attachments. This is used to reply to you and to keep a record of corrections and corrections requests. We do not ask for names, addresses, or payment details anywhere on this site — there is no account system and nothing to sign up for.

Data collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting and analytics tools record standard technical data when you load a page: your IP address (truncated), browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages visited, and the time spent on each. This data cannot identify you personally and is used in aggregate to understand which reviews are useful.

Cookies and how we use them

PMCompared sets no first-party tracking cookies of its own. Third-party services loaded on our pages may set cookies:

• Google Analytics 4 (property G-6YW2NG1CNX) — anonymous usage statistics: page views, session duration, and traffic sources. IP addresses are anonymized ("data with IP anonymization" enabled). Cookies: _ga, _ga_*, with a maximum lifetime of 24 months.
• Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-7182409713703303) — contextual advertising. Google may serve personalized ads depending on your region and your choices at adssettings.google.com. Where required by law, a consent prompt appears before any personalized ad cookie is set.

You can block or delete any of these cookies in your browser settings without losing access to site content. Everything we publish reads fine with an ad blocker running.

Advertising disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means a vendor pays us a commission if you click through and buy. This costs you nothing extra — it comes out of the vendor's marketing budget. Commission arrangements never determine our scores or rankings; the full explanation lives on our affiliate disclosure page. Vendors cannot pay to improve a rating, and several products we rank highly pay us nothing at all.

Third-party services

A short, honest list of every third party that processes data when you use this site: Google (Analytics and AdSense, United States), and our static hosting provider Cloudflare (edge CDN). Newsletters, if we ever add one, will run through a service that honors one-click unsubscribe. That is the whole list — we deliberately keep the stack tiny.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights over your personal data:

• Access — ask us what data, if any, we hold that is linked to you.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your email correspondence with us.
• Objection — object to processing of your data for analytics or advertising.
• Portability — receive a copy of any personal data we hold in a machine-readable format.

For EU/EEA residents, these rights come from the GDPR. For California residents, the CCPA grants similar rights, and we do not sell personal information as that term is defined by that law — affiliate commissions are paid by vendors for referred purchases, not by anyone for your data. To exercise any right, email us; we respond within 30 days and there is no charge.

Data retention

Email correspondence is kept for 24 months and then deleted, unless a thread relates to an ongoing correction or a legal matter. Analytics data in aggregate form may be kept indefinitely because it contains no personal identifiers. AdSense serving data is governed by Google's own retention rules.

Children's privacy

This site is written for business professionals evaluating project and work management tools and is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has contacted us, email us and we will delete the correspondence.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version appears on this page with the revision date at the top, and material changes will be flagged at the bottom of our homepage for two weeks. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
